Olympic Hospitality in Livigno
Beyond the Finish Line: The Legacy of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games at Spöl
Once the spotlight on the Livigno stage had faded and silence once again enveloped the peaks, we were able to better appreciate the significance of what was, for us, an incredible experience.
It wasn’t just about hosting an event, but about being part of a piece of history.
At the hotel, we witnessed the tension before the races, the jubilation after the podium, and the prestige of welcoming delegations and institutions from every corner of the globe. That same energy has transformed into an awareness of our new standard of excellence.
Sportsmanship and team spirit
For us, the Olympic spirit is, in fact, the natural way we have always lived in the mountains.
That is why hosting the Games was a natural progression.
We brought the same determination to hosting the Games as we would to crossing the finish line in an Olympic race.
As a family, this bond runs even deeper. I, Dario, together with my children Jacopo, Nicole and Riccardo, grew up with sport as an integral part of our lives. For us, sport is not just physical activity, but a true philosophy that also shapes the way we work: determination, team spirit and a constant pursuit of improvement.
And then there’s Daniela, my wife, who — though not sporty herself — has always “put up with” our competitive spirit with great patience.
If the Olympic spirit is also about dedication and support, then a medal, symbolically speaking, she most certainly deserves too.
From Royals to Team USA: the World Comes to Livigno
During the Games, Hotel Spöl became a truly unique international hub.
We had the honour of being selected as the Headquarters by the American Olympic family (USOPF), rising to meet the highest organisational standards.
Our spaces welcomed figures who represent the very history of sport and its institutions:
- Princess Anne of England
- Prince Albert of Monaco
- Ministers of the Italian Republic and senior officials of the IOC (International Olympic Committee).
Beyond the official protocols, what stays with us is the professional pride: staff cheering alongside the athletes, the spontaneous exchanges after the races, and the awareness of having played a part in a once-in-a-lifetime event.
The Legacy: Reaffirming Our Five Stars
Right on the eve of the event, we had completed our upgrade to five stars.
Taking on the intensity of the Games at such a pivotal moment was our most ambitious challenge — and the tangible proof of our new standard of hospitality.
The feedback from international delegates and athletes spoke for itself: our identity is now built to meet the most demanding expectations of the global market.
The Wellness Sanctuary as a Refuge from the World's Noise
While Livigno buzzed with adrenaline and competition, stepping through the hotel’s doors meant entering a dimension of complete disconnection.
Outside, the relentless pace of the Olympic Games, the energy of the slopes, the crowds, the pressure of performance. Inside, a different kind of time: slower, muffled, almost suspended.
True luxury was born precisely from this balance. From the sharp transition between two opposite worlds: the intensity of the Olympics and the deep stillness of our new SPA. A space designed to welcome, to slow down, to let go. Where even the highest tension found its natural release.
That Atmosphere Lives On
It was more than relaxation — it was a precise feeling: the sense of finding yourself again, even at the heart of one of the most dynamic events in the world.
That atmosphere didn’t end with the Games. It lives on in every detail, in every gesture, in every quiet moment our guests allow themselves.
Choosing us today means stepping into this unique balance: breathing in the legacy of the 2026 Olympics and experiencing a standard of hospitality that has been tested at the highest levels of world sport.
