Bernina Red Train

To St. Moritz, aboard the most beautiful train in the world!

They call it the most beautiful little train in the world. This is perhaps also due to the fact that the tracks of this fabulous little train almost touch the sky.

It is the railway itself that becomes a spectacle: peculiar locomotives and carriages, little stations that look as if they have been pierced, tight bends that will make you want to reach out and grab the tail of the train, viaducts and tunnels with gradients that are sometimes impressive.

The most spectacular Alpine crossing connects different language areas and cultures. Up the mountain to the Bernina glaciers and into the Engadin right to Lake St. Moritz. 55 tunnels: 196 viaducts and gradients of up to 70 per thousand. The highest point at 2253 metres, the Ospizio Bernina.

The experience is even more impressive in the panoramic carriages, where you can enjoy a breathtaking all-encompassing view of the surrounding landscape.

The most beautiful views? Lake Poschiavo, the Alp Grüm viewpoint, Lago Bianco, the imposing Morteratsch glacier and the Pizzo Bernina group, the only four-thousand-metre peak in the Central Alps.
